Cari Forman is a research assistant at the Tobacco Law Center, primarily studying legal and political obstacles to smoke-free regulations. Prior to joining the Tobacco Law Center, Cari was involved in the field of education, most recently with charter schools. She has served as a project director at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs, as the Director of Education at Capital Children’s Museum (Washington, DC), and as a program officer at the US Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (Washington, DC). Cari also spent five years practicing tax law at Rosenman & Colin in New York City. Cari is a graduate of Williams College and Stanford Law School, and has an LLM in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
Mara Koeller is a research assistant at the Tobacco Law Center, working on childhood obesity prevention projects. Mara is a third year law student at William Mitchell College of Law, where she serves as an editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Andrea is currently providing assistance for the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium. Andrea is a full-time student in her second year at William Mitchell. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.
Tessa McEllistrem is a research assistant at the Tobacco Law Center, working on childhood obesity prevention. Tessa is a second year student at William Mitchell College of Law. She received her B.A. in Economics at St. Olaf College.
Monique Muggli received her B.A. from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN and her M.P.H. from the University of Minnesota. She is currently a contracted researcher at the Mayo Clinic’s Nicotine Dependence Center in Rochester, MN and is a second year part-time student at William Mitchell College of Law. Her research interests concentrate on the public heath implications of the tobacco industry’s operations worldwide and specifically on the transnational tobacco companies’ efforts to subvert public health measures aimed at reducing secondhand smoke exposure. She has had extensive experience with researching the once-secret internal tobacco industry documents and has published those findings in nearly twenty peer-reviewed manuscripts, in various reports for the World Health Organization and its regional offices, and she has presented findings at several international and national public health conferences. In addition to analyzing corporate tobacco industry documents, Monique has worked in other areas of tobacco control including evaluating local policy changes and community strategies and its effects on adolescent smoking and youth access to tobacco. She has also interned at the Minnesota State Legislature on public health policy issues.
Katie Rindfleisch is a research assistant at the Tobacco Law Center, working on Tobacco Control Legal Consortium projects. Katie is a second year student at William Mitchell College of Law and has developed an interest in public interest and governmental law. She received her degree in Political Science and Sociology – Law, Criminology, and Deviance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
